Race rules
The race is run according to the rules of the NCF and the UCI. Participants must
comply with instructions given by the organizers. All registrations are binding. There are no refunds in case of illness, injury, etc.
Traffic regulations
General traffic regulations and road signs must be observed. Please pay attention to the environment, the public and co-racers.
Bib/bike/route
The bib must be fastened to the handlebar according to instructions. Please use the short cable ties to attach the bib at the top, and the long cable tie to attach the bottom of the bib.
Participants in the age classes may use the service stations. Parts of the route will be closed for ordinary traffic,and supporter vehicles are not permitted.
All bikes used in any terrain competition, should have only propulsion by human power. It is forbidden to use tires with metal screws or spikes. The bikes must be equipped with wheels of equal diameter, front and rear, no larger than 29 inches. It is prohibited to install equipment for time trial or road races.
For safety reason, it is not allowed to use MP3 player etc. A certified helmet is compulsory.
Backpack/clothing
All participants, regardless of class, must carry a 3,5 kilo backpack during the hole race and at the finish. For safety reason the pack should contain: extra clothes(wool), a windbreaker, gloves, cap, drink, food, tools and some spare parts.
The backpack must be carried on your back throughout the race. Packs will be checked. Participants not complying with these requirements will be disqualified or given a time penalty.
Licence/Insurance
Participants outside of Norway participating in the age classes need to sign an athlete`s declaration form. You sign the form when retrieving your bib.
Timing
Your bib and race packet includes a chip, functioning as your
personal stop-watch. Your time will be recorded as you pass the check points at
start, four split time stations, and at the finish line. It is essential that the chip is
worn/fastened according to the instructions given. Remember: no chip, or chip
wrongly placed = no time registrated, and no diploma.
Violating the rules
Participants violating the rules will be disqualified. The organizers reserve the right to stop late racers from completing the race.You may not start using another person`s entry/bib. Doing so will lead to disqualification.
There are special race rules for participants in the elite classes
Cancellation
In the case of cancellation in advance of event day, the organiser may retain 50% of the entry fee to cover expenses.
In the case of a decision by the organisers to move the event to another site on the same day, to cancel the event and then organise the event on a later date, or to move the event to another site on a different date: persons who are registered to participate on the original date but do not start on the new date are not entitled to a refund of any part of the entry fee.
In the case of cancellation on event day due to weather/climatic conditions or other ”force majeure”, then the organiser will retain the entire entry fee.
