Partly seeded wave start

  • Competitors will be seeded in waves according to results obtained in previous Birkebeiner races or in races sanctioned for qualification.
  • The fastest competitors will start first.
  •  Our intention is that all competitors should start in a wave where they qualitatively belong and thus compete with their equals.

Allocation of wave

Waves will be allocated on the basis of results in Birkebeinerrittet 2011, 2010, 2009, or 2008. For participants outside of Norway results from races in Euro Bike Extreme and Vätternrundan will be assessed for qualification. Such results must be from 2012.

If you want to reseed due to results from these races please send an e-mail to: seeding@birkebeiner.no

There are also some qualification races in Norway. If you want to reseed from one of these races you must enter your BIRK id number when you register fro one of these races. Participants with no confirmed qualification will be placed in the last waves.

Dynamic seeding

The seeding will change regularly until the second week in August. After this date the information regarding wave and start time will be final. All participants will receive a startingcard by e-mail in August that states their final wave and starting time.
