We are now in the month of the race. We hope that you’ve had a great summer with a lot of cycling and jogging, and that you’re ready for the years big Birken events in August and September.

IMPORTANT DEADLINES worth noting:

  • 12th August: Fee for re-seeding after this date is NOK 225,- (this does not apply to re-registration after this date)

  • 14th August: Last deadline for changing point of collection of start number. See MY PAGE on the internet.

  • 20th August: Booking of mattress accommodation if not already booked. See MY PAGE on the internet.

  • 25th August 12:00 hours: Final deadline for re-registration, booking of, and re-seeding!!

Final start times and start groups

Final start times and start groups are assigned.See start list.

You will receive a start card via email showing your start number, collection point and accommodation if applicable.

Remember to show your start card when collecting your start number.

 

Re-seeding

A fee of NOK 250,- will be charged for re-seeding after 10th August. This only applies to those who have already registered. Competitors who re-register won’t be charged in addition for re-seeding.

 

New this year:

Competitors can now order breakfast on the morning of departure from Lillehammer, Hamar and Oslo Saturday 29th August. Bus reservation: You can now book bus transport to FredagsBirken and Birkebeinerrittet. See information about bus times, prices and payment here: Bus transport 

Remember that pre-booking is necessary on all departures. Book well in advance! Final deadline for bus reservations for FredagsBirken is Thursday 16:00 hours, and for Birkebeinerrittet is Friday 16:00 hours.

 

Mattress accommodation incl. breakfast at Rena

Mattress accommodation in schools etc is available at Rena the night before the race. Please note that you will need a sleeping bag. The accommodation fee is NOK 295,- if paid in advance (before August 20th). After this date a fee of NOK 350,- must be paid at the race office at Rena on Friday (August 28th).

birkebeiner youth race August 29th at Lillehammer

For anyone aged 12 - 16 years old within 31.12.2009. All entrants must carry a backpack that weighs at least 1,5 kg throughout the race. The backpack must contain food, drink and tools.
