Over 14500 participants
Birkebeinerrennet has over 14500 participants registered for the race next Saturday. This is over 2000 more than ever before!
Weather and track conditions:
We have a lot of snow (approximately 1 meter) and the conditions are fantastic with good tracks in the mountain.

The track will be prepared every day the last week until race day 21.th March.
Deadlines:
• Entry/reregistration/reseeding and payment via web have to be done Tuesday
March 17th at 12:00 at the latest.
• You can also enter Friday 20.th March in our race office in Rena. The entry-fee
is NOK 1395.-

Seeding:
There is a fee of NOK 250,- for seeding from results from races that is organized after March 1st. If you would like to reseed please send an e-mail to seeding@birkebeiner.no
Bustransportation:
There will be transportation for participants from Lillehammer and from Oslo to the start at Rena in the morning and return after the race. Note: *= Booking must be made in advance at this site from March 1st 2009: https://tiur.hwiig.no/sbc/?lang=en
Travelling time from Lillehammer to Rena aprox. 2 hours.
NOTE: Most of the buses from Lillehammer to Rena on race day morning will go directly to the start area. The bib must have been picked up in advance in Lillehammer (Håkons Hall) Friday afternoon Bus transportation must be ordered at our webpage before Friday 20.th March at 16:00hrs.
Free buses for participants abandoning the race:
Skramstadsætra – Håkons Hall 11:00, 12:30, 14:30
Kvarstaddammen – Håkons Hall 11:00 – 15:30 if needed
Sjusjøen – Håkons Hall 14:00, 15:00, 17:30
Parking/Buses Rena
Private cars have to park in the center of Rena or in Rena Military Camp. Participants must use shuttlebuses to start (from 05:30 hrs to 10:00 hrs). Teambuses (minimum 15 seats) can drive directly to the starting area. Baggage:
Transportation of baggage from start to Håkons Hall is included in the entry fee. It is your responsibility to tag your baggage and hand it in to the truck marked your starting wave. (Tags in your race pacet). The organizers accept no liability for loss of baggage.
Pole replacement and waxing stations:
Swix will provide pole replacement at start and at all the food stations along the course.
They will also provide waxing tips / waxing stations at start and at Skramstadsætra and at Kvarstad.
All competitors will also need to have their own wax in the pack
Dead-lines:
Participants that haven`t reached Skramstadsætra (9km) by 12.30, Kvarstad (27km) by 15.00 and Sjusjøen (41km) by 17.30 will for safety reasons be stopped and taken out of the race.
Confirmation / ”Startcard”
You will recieve a confirmation/startcard by e-mail during week 11, 12. Here you can find your startingtime, startwave, startnumber and where to pick up your racepacket. Please bring this startcard with you when you pick up your racepacket. Mattressaccomodation:
